Strength, Endurance, and Dexterity are about what one would expect. They also represent a character’s capacity to take wounds, as they will decrease as it is injured. If they’re ever all 0, the character has died.
Intelligence and Education are related, but Intelligence is more about inherent problem-solving ability such as an affinity for numbers. Education is more about training, such as knowing calculus.
Social Standing is actually how a character is viewed in society. There are perks for having a high social standing, including better benefits, a title, and more opportunity for advancement. Of course, on a backwater, low-tech world, this might not mean very much.
